Resin Transfer Moulding is a low pressure closed moulding process, which offers high quality engineered components with a smooth finish inside & out.

Components can be manufactured to close dimensional tolerances.

Components have good surface finish on both sides.

Selective reinforcement and accurate fibre management is more achievable.

Inserts may be incorporated into mouldings.

The process is more automated, resulting in higher production rates with less scrap & re-work.

Lamplas is a leading supplier of engineered polymer solutions for the automotive, transport and leisure industries.

With its supply partners, Lamplas provide high specification thermoplastic and thermoset components that range from caravan exterior fronts and rears to shower cubicles and shower trays.

Open moulding is by far the most common process used to manufacture composites parts accounting for over 40% of composites processed world-wide. It is a relatively simple process, but requires good operator skills. Open moulding can be used for a wide range of mouldings from caravan parts to boat hulls and.

Spray lamination is very similar to hand lay-up apart from the method of placing the reinforcement and the resin into the mould. Rather than using reinforcement in the form of mat, resin and reinforcement are sprayed into the mould using a combined resin spray and chopper gun. This process is much faster than hand lay-up. This eliminates much of the manual labour involved in positioning the reinforcement in the mould and results in higher productivity although rolling is still necessary to ensure proper consolidation of the part. Spray lamination can be used in combination with hand lay where different types of fibre or constructions are required to achieve specific properties.

Lamplas produce Granitcastâ„¢ solid surface bathroom and kitchen components for leading UK brands.

Cast and polished to give the look and feel of solid stone, we have the ability to design and mould solid surface products that meet our customers objectives in terms of style, functionality and price.

Lamplas solid surface utilises a high grade engineering resin blended with natural mineral fillers to produce a hygienic, non-porous surface highly resistant to impact, chemicals, stains and fading.

Working closely with our customers, we design, develop and manufacture domestic kitchen and bathroom cast solid surface vanity bowls, sinks, baths, mirror surrounds, towel rails, window beads, door frames, fire surrounds, shower trays and shower wall systems.

Benefits Include:

Durable - solid all the way through. Renewable - can be restored to its orginal look if damaged.
Limitless - designs are only limited by your imagination. Touch - solid surface is silky smooth & warm to the touch.
Easy To Clean - cleans easily with soap & water. Non Porous - resist stains & easy to keep clean.
